Will Colapinto replace Doohan as second driver at Alpine Team during the 2025 season or is just a rumour of Argentine press?

You have to consider his position at Williams. It was clear a seat weren’t going to open there anytime soon, Albon is pretty nicely embedded into the team and Sainz, well he’s obviously Williams star boy given his past experience with McLaren, Renault, ToroRoso and Ferrari of course.

If the was a race between Doohan and Colapinto I’d expect Colapinto to be more on it from the moment the red lights go out then Doohan. That doesn’t mean I think Colapinto wins just means I think he’d be a bit sharper in everything he does and reason I say that because unlike Doohan he has 9 races under his belt. So naturally like anything in life more you do more you knowledge and know how you gain. However I don’t see why you bring Colapinto who was bare in your mind under contract at Williams and I don’t see why you’d bring Colapinto to the team unless you have a plan in place for him as a driver.

Alpine can’t afford to have one driver scoring points and the other driver down in 15th some 44 seconds behind. Obviously I don’t want to be to critical as Doohan was chucked in the deep end with very little practice or training regime and I think it’s unfair to judge Doohan rookie race in F1. Of course you can point towards other rookies who jumped in and shined but that’s very far and very few. And even they actually got more running in a F1 car then what Doohan probably had up until that point in his career. Let’s put it this way.

I’m wondering about attachment and transference with the therapist and the idea of escape and fantasy? How much do you think your strong feelings, constant thoughts, desires to be with your therapist are a way to escape from your present life? I wonder if the transference serves another purpose than to show us our wounds and/or past experiences, but is a present coping strategy for managing what we don’t want to face (even if unconsciously) in the present—-current relationships, life circumstances, etc. Can anyone relate to this concept of escape in relation to their therapy relationship? How does this play out for you?

However whatever the case is I think Franco and Alpine must have a plan otherwise why would Franco go to Alpine without reassurance from top management what is to become of his future.

Ultimately in the end Doohan is only as good and so are all F1 drivers, they’re only as good as the last race. And if Doohan does performance like AbuDhabi that was of last season finishing P15 and some 44 seconds behind his teammate each weekend and his teammate scoring points, sooner rather than later he’ll be out the door before you know it.

And if you looking at who Alpine more likely to replace then of course Jack Doohan would have undoubtedly be the first choice. You wouldn’t pick Gasly who’s scored podiums, gets decent points and clearly a decent midfield driver. You’d probably pick Doohan given his lack of experience and potentially not being good enough. Not that I believe he’s not good enough for F1 but he’s the one with a lot to prove unlike his teammate who has now 6 season under his belt, multiple podium finishes and 436 career points.

Possibly. I don’t think it’s untrue nor true. It’s a bit of both and mixed answer.
